Adenosine

A nucleoside composed of Adenine and β-D Ribose, Adenosine is part of many important body-own substances. It blocks the stimulating neurotransmitters (including acetylcholine, dopamine, norepinephrine), which causes dilatation, resulting in a lowered blood pressure as well as a decrease in heart rate. It acts on the A1 Adenosine receptors in the hypothalamus, promoting sleep.
