An atropine derivative, Cyclopentolate Hydrochloride’s active ingredient causes loss of accommodation and is used as a diagnostic and examination tool. It is also used in Cataract surgeries and occasionally in uveitis as it pulls the iris away from the cornea and prevents adhesions forming.
